Inshore/Nearshore Fishing Charters
Our inshore charters take up to 4 guests to the flats, channel ledges, wrecks and various bottom features of the inshore and/or nearshore waters of NW Florida in the Pensacola area. Species primarily targeted are Speckled Trout, Redfish (drum), Black Drum and Spanish Mackerel.
A Hands-On Charter Experience
When you fish with Double D Fishing Charters, you are fishing with a father-and-son team that takes the planning and execution of each trip seriously.
We study the weather, tides, conditions, season, target species, and recent fishing activity before each trip. On the water, we work with our customers throughout the day — helping with bait, tackle, technique, fish handling, photos, and decisions about where and how to fish.
Our focus is on giving customers a safe, productive, and enjoyable fishing experience, not simply offering the shortest or cheapest boat ride available.
Choosing the Right Trip
We want every customer to book the trip that best fits their group, their expectations, and the conditions on the water.
Shorter inshore and nearshore trips are a good fit for families with young children, first-time anglers, customers specifically looking for inshore species and customers who prefer to stay closer to shore. These trips are designed to provide a relaxed fishing experience without the longer run required for productive offshore fishing.
For customers looking for larger Gulf species and a true offshore or deep sea fishing experience, we generally recommend a longer offshore trip. Productive fishing grounds often require meaningful travel time, and a longer trip gives us more time to reach better areas, adjust to the conditions, and put you in the best position to catch fish.
At Double D Fishing Charters, our goal is not simply to take you for a boat ride. Captains Paul and Eric work together to plan each trip, evaluate conditions, choose productive areas, help customers fish effectively, and make the day as safe and successful as possible.
4-hour trip: inshore/nearshore, family, young kids, relaxed trip
5-hour trip: minimum practical choice for better nearshore/offshore opportunity
6+ hour trip: better offshore/deep sea experience
8-hour trip: best for customers serious about productive offshore fishing

We primarily launch from Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze but we may choose a different location depending on the season and the area or species we may be targeting. Captains Paul and Eric will coordinate with you where the launch location will be.
