Deep Sea and Offshore Fishing Charter Pensacola

We ran five offshore fishing charters this past week in state and federal waters with two families of four, four faculty members/friends from the University of Texas, a father/daughter combo and a father/son combo. Thank you for booking with us!

We fished depths ranging from 85 to 110 feet and found triggerfish, cobia, mahi-mahi, lane snapper, vermilion snapper, red snapper, resulting in a Snapper Slam (species family slam) on three of the five charters.

We pulled in lots of Almaco and Greater Amberjacks on the trips both on live bait and poppers. We found a nice floating weedpatch that produced mahi on a silver spoon and pulled in 2 juvenile cobia on cut bait as well. we saw lots of variety on our trips

Our most productive baits included cut squid, cut tomtates, cut sand perch, chicken gizzards, and cut cigar minnows. We also used live pinfish, cigar minnows and tomtates.

We managed to hook into a 6′ bull shark that our young client fought for about 15 minutes, got him to withing 15 feet of the boat before his pearly whites cut through the 150# leader and swam off.

Dolphins made several appearances throughout the week. Fortunately, they didn’t take any fish on the way up, but they certainly intercepted a few catches on the way down.

Inshore Fishing Charter Pensacola

We did one inshore charter this week for a father/son combo. The young angler was almost 5 yrs old. He bounced between his dad, Capt Eric and me reeling in fish after fish. He pulled up sand perch, pinfish, tomtates, cigar minnows, juvenile red snapper and juvenile spade fish. It was like having a pinball on the boat. It was a really enjoyable charter for us with a repeat customer.
