Deep Sea Fishing Pensacola Fishing Report – Inshore Fishing Pensacola Fishing Report Week Ending 05/17/2026 – Great Grouper This Week
We got 2 opportunities to get offshore in Federal Waters this week fishing 100′- 375′. We had lots of action on cutbait and artificials. Vermilion Snapper are consistently found on many locations of varying size. We are finding plenty of medium and small Greater Amberjack on the edges of the shelf dropoff. Red Snapper didn’t make too many appearnces this week (perhaps they got the memo about season opening and headed for safer seascapes). We did pick up Lane snapper again in Federal waters. When we’re trying to avoid Triggerfish, we are out in 175’+ waters. But we generally try to get our limit before shunning them, which means a lot of almost there catches. They are a blast to catch, fight well above their weight class and aren’t something you find in the waters of the Midwest. Grouper this week came from far away (30mi from the pass). The run was worth it however as two fire trucks were hauled in on a personal trip (see pics below for father and son Red Grouper). Offshore sea conditions are starting to settle out so more trips offshore are happening. If you’re interested in an offshore Pensacoal fishing charter or deep sea Pensacoal fishing charter, give us a call @ 850-525-FISH. We’ll give you the straight story on sea conditions, weather and what’s biting as well as how we are catching them. The best bang for your buck will be a 6hr Federal charter though we do offer 5hr State water charters. We’ll show you a good time either way.

Inshore Fishing Charter Pensacola
Eric and I did a bit of scouting the bay and the sound. We had a couple really nice days bringing in good numbers with a few keeper size Specs. As the water begins to clear up, Reds will get more skittish and are easily spooked, harder to catch. Early morning is the best inshore time but we’ve historically done well in the afternoons too. This time of year is nice inshore and is a nice alternative to going offshore, especially if you’re a little anxious about the larger water. Again, give us a call @ 850-525-FISH. We’ll give you the straight story on sea conditions, weather and what’s biting and how we are catching them. While most of the Specs have made their way back down South, a few Flounder can be had on good days up by the river delta. It’s a lot of casting but can be rewarding on special days. The scenery is pretty impressive as well.
