NW Florida / Pensacola Fishing Report WE 16Jun24

Offshore

Made two runs offshore this week. Of note, we put Kings, Barracuda, AJs (largest 43″), Red Snapper, Lane Snapper, Vermillions, a baby Cobia (23″) and a Scamp Grouper (20″) in the boat as well as a load of Bonita. Conditions were 1′-2′ on both days with less than 10mph winds. Water temp 85-88deg and air temp was HOT.

Inshore

No inshore fishing this week.

Nighttime

Night fishing in the Destin/Choctawhatchee Bay system. CAught Spanish Mackerel before sunset and then on to catch Reds (16″-18″), Bluefish and Specs (schoolies). The Reds fought above their weight class and the Blues are just plain fun to catch (although the lure is one and done when they get ahold of it).

Fly Fishing

Fly fishing dock lights at night in the Destin/Chocktawhatchee Bay system fishing this week. Picked up schoolie trout but baitcasters were more productive. Water color was turbid but not too cloudy. It was more like Pensacola water than the typical Destin Gin clear.

We offer exciting offshore fishing trips like the ones this week featured in the NW Florida Fishing Update, where we caught Red Snapper, Amber Jack, Bonita, Trigger Fish, Vermilion Snapper, and Red Bigeye. Book a fishing trip to experience the thrill of these catches!
