NW Florida / Pensacola Fishing Report WE 02Jun24

Offshore

Made a pair of runs offshore this past week, Wednesday and Thursday. Both days had larger than forecast waves and wind. Wednesday was the calmer though less productive day where we managed 2 Trigger fish over 15″ and a single Vermillion snapper for the box. We pulled in a couple pre-season Red Snapper but spent much of the day unhooking Tomtates. Thursday we got our 2 Triggers over 15″, 3 Vermillion over 10″ and a dozen pre-season Red Snapper, 11 of which were 13″-15″. Only 1 that would have been a keeper if t were in season. Conditions for Thursday started out great and we were doing great for the first 3 hours but the wind, waves and curren got to the point where the trolling motor couldn’t keep us spotlocked so we spent the last hour holding position with the big motor. Lots of fish but a tough day for wave action. We did get to see the Blue Angels practicing which is always great.
