Bottom Fishing 101 by Shake N Bake Charters Ilwaco Washington
While browsing posts on “The Hull Truth” Boating Forum, I came across something of interest that led me to contact Captain Mike at Shake N Bake Tuna Charters in Ilwaco Washington. After a little email back an forth, I went to his web site to check them out. I found he had a really good tutorial on bottom fishing and while it is put together for his area of the country, if you replaced rock ledges with artificial reefs, it would completely apply to bottom fishing offshore here in the Florida Panhandle. If you haven’t been on an offshore charter or out in your own boat off the Emerald Coast, give his post a read and you’ll be well ahead of the game when you’re making your early attempts at catching snapper, AJ, grouper, trigger fish and any number of the unknowns in out 50′-120′ of Florida State waters and well deeper in the Federal Waters past the 9 mile boundary. I enjoyed the read and I hope you do to. Thanks Captain Mike! Check it out !!!!!
