Offshore
2 offshore trips this week in which we caught Red Snapper, Amber Jack, Bonita, Trigger Fish, Vermilion Snapper and a Red Bigeye. Most fish were caught on cut bait but the bigger fish tended to come off of a free line with live bait drifting from the back of the boat, poppers, 1oz. silver spoons or live bait suspended under the boat. The mornings were nice temperatures and the heat held off until the afternoons. Water is still hot and the waves were usually 2′ or less. We fished with Bonita and squid cut baits and stopped for live bait on the way out. Vermilion were partial to the squid as usual. The channel buoys produced lots of hard tail and bay bonita for live and cut bait.
Inshore
